Services and activities

  1. Study / reading room counter:-
    1. Issuing and return of books / periodicals: - 300 – 350 per day (Average).
    2. Searching of books as on demands.
    3. Charging and discharging records writing.
    4. Preparing list of old, lost and books in demand.
  2. Home lending counter:-
    1. Issuing and return of books / periodicals:- 200 – 250 per day (Average).
    2. Sorting the slips and searching the books in demands.
    3. Charging and discharging record writing.
  3. Reference Section:-
    1. 50 – 100 books to reference per day.
    2. 25 -30 books to pure reference.
  4. Current awareness service:-
  5. under this new arrivals list is given to concerned heads of the departments and a copy also is kept in the staff common room also it is put up on the library notice board.
  6. News paper article clippings:-
  7. articles on education appeared in the various newspaper are cut and filed in the file called ‘News Paper Clippings file’- to facilitate the current situations on the field of education.
  8. Lending of Audio / Visuals:-
  9. lending of audio / visuals is another such service, where the CDs and Cassettes received from various magazines and books are issued to home for a week. A separate register is maintained for the same.
  10. Reprographic service:-
  11. this is another area where the photo copying service is provided to students and staff members to facilitate the prompt information and service.

Activities

  1. Book Bank:-
  2. We have Book Bank Scheme for Backward class students funded by the University of Mumbai. Also under Students Welfare Scheme set of textbooks are issued to general category students.
    1. A set of text books are given to the needy students for a year.
    2. Applications are invited for the same and priority is given on first come first serve basis.
  3. Book Exhibition:-
  4. we arrange book exhibitions and book fairs.
  5. Library Appraisal by students:-
  6. the library has a practice where questionnaire is distributed on an average 10 % of the total strength of the students and suggestions are asked.
  7. In addition to the library appraisal ‘Suggestion Box’ is kept in the library. Once in a week it is opened and suggestions are taken care off.
  8. Smart Card:-
  9. this is another activity where additional two books are issued to meritorious students; top three students from each class are given the facility.
